Pregnancy Update – 28 weeks

FullSizeRender

With 12 weeks remaining before we meet our new family member, lot’s has been happening as we prepare for his arrival. I am going to try my best to relax as much as I can now that I’m in the third trimester, however my mind is working overtime thinking about my (never-ending) to-do list.

What’s happening with #2?

#2 is currently the size of a cauliflower head, weighs just over 1kg and about 32 cm in length.  He is very active and I swear I felt him kicking my rib cage the other day.

What’s happening with my body?

I’ve gained just over 7 kg’s thus far but I’m finding it hard to eat a full meal as the indigestion and heartburn are just not worth it so I’m trying to stick to eating smaller meals with little snacks in between – so much for eating whatever you like when you pregnant! The heat has been a killer this week and I’m finding it difficult to sleep at night, but so is the hubby who complains about it more than I do 🙂

Food Love

Date and nut muffins from Kuaui. Yum! This week I am going to try making my own…. will let you know how that goes!

What I’m dreaming about?

I can only recall parts of 1 dream that I had recently. Old friends and places I haven’t been to in ages featured in the dream, but that’s all I can remember really.

Shopping?

I’ve bought a few cute items and also managed to go through some of Alyssa’s newborn clothing to see what I can re-use for #2, so I now have a clear picture of what’s still needed. #2 even got some Christmas gifts from family members 🙂

We’ve started planning the nursery, just in terms of a theme and wall colour and now have a bit of an idea of what we want. I will share some of this with you in posts to come.

I would also like to start stocking up on nappies but I’ve heard things could be a bit tricky when it comes to boys. I’ve used Pampers Premium care for Alyssa since she was born and to date she has never had a rash or anything of the sort. I will most probably buy it for #2 as well, however I’ve been told that Huggies for boys may be better.I would love to hear from any moms with experience on this matter.

Have a great week!

xxx

Looking fab – I’m totes jealous of your gorgeous bump! We’ve always used Huggies (for all of our kids). Never had any issues. But I think it’s a lot to do with trial and error.

For my son I used pampers in the beginning and then changed to Huggies (5 months old), no leaks. Then changed to Cuddlers due to a ridiculous price hike at the time (also no leaks) – think he was about 18 months. Never had any problems with nappy rash.

Ooooh yum. I may ask for that Date & Nut muffin recipe if they work well?

We’ve used Huggies for boys with our little man since we got him at 6.5mths. He’s never had a rash.

We recently started using cloth nappies during the day for him too – which we are loving. Look them up if you haven’t already – they are waaaaay different to the old-school ones our parents used. Let me know if you want info? I know it’s not for everyone though…

We recently bought Pampers for night time nappies and I am not liking them. The tabs seem to tear easily, they don’t hold wee as well as the Huggies, and they don’t fit my chubby guy too well either.

Thanks Angi, I will do some research on the cloth nappies too. I will definitely share the recipe if the muffins turn out well 😉
