image3Can you believe it’s almost Winter again?

Im sure I’ve mentioned it before, but I’m a fan of the colder weather. It’s the prime time to dress up, accessorise and play around with different colours and trends.

I was very excited to hear about Zando’s AW16 collection called Free Fall’in. The range invites you to celebrate your fashion individuality – with a pinch of off-the-runway panache! Autumn Winter ’16’s sheer fashion variation has a little something for everyone, leaving nothing to be desired.

Zando Fashion Editor, Zeane Singer breaks down the Fall Collection into 3 prominent categories:
Borrowed from the Boys
This look is strongly inspired by international street culture. We like to think of it as hipster meets fashionista with a tomboy finish. Create the look with ripped boyfriend jeans, cleated side buckle boots, a soft white blouse topped with a smokey eye and soft nude lip.
Dark Romance
This luxurious look speaks for itself, a chic silhouette with a sultry twist. Ideal for careerchasers with a full social calendar. Think lace detailed dress finished with a black leather jacket, velvet tie up heels and a burgundy wrap blouse. Add a vibrant masala lip for that added pop.
Folksy has a fierce 1970’s influence with a slightly softer tone for that ultimate transitional changeover. This girl has a youthful spirit and playful bohemian charm. Pair your curvy fit basic skinny with a suede waterfall jacket and fringe bag. Warning! Don’t leave the house without your neckerchief or round sunnies.
I picked Zeane’s brain for some style tips this season and this is what she had to say:
1. What are the absolute Do’s and Dont’s when it comes to fashion in AW2016

A spicy pop of colour in amongst the darkness will always fair well.  Flared trousers are a do, but caution with the proportion. They need to suit your body type! Short gals beware! Fringing is fabulous, provided there’s no overkill in the execution.

Layers, layers, layers – throw a parka over your old polo neck for a touch of winter glam.

Dark Romance doesn’t necessarily refer to the colour, while it may take inspiration from gothic undertones; it is also an expression of a Victorian renewal.

Not to say that it ever left the building, but Knitwear is back with a twist and regardless of your style preference it swims pleasantly alongside all categories.

2. I am totes in love with the Dark Romance category in the FreeFall’in range. What make-up products and colours do you think will complement this look?

Matte Lips, huge lashes and Gel look nails – basically that polished salon look.

This girl is kind and polite with a sassy mysterious side. So think pastels by day with soft metallics and a biker jacket by night. We’d pair her with a matte masala lip (berry tones). There is a strong focus on blue and charcoal grey eyes for a shouldering finish. Nails have all flair and sparkle, slightly grounded with a darker base black finish.

3. My husband is really into his gymming and is quite keen on the Athleisure trend. It’s certainly evolved over the years and it seems as if it’s here to stay. Are there any items in the Freefall’in range that will polish off this look?

Absolutely! Gym ware has really become a cult street style to follow. Gone are the days where you actually need to sweat it out to wear those sneaks. See our top suggested items from #ZandoAW16.

Top Tip * Ditch the denims for joggers and pair it with a crisp or colourful hoody, a bomber and finish it off with sneakers.

What’s your favourite?
