When Victoria Beckham posted this birthday message to her daughter on her Instagram account, it started yet another controversial parenting debate.

I was quite shocked by it…. what is so wrong about kissing your own child on the lips?

Some comments on the post said the kiss looked very “sexual”. The way Victoria’s head is tilted. One comment even said “Why tilt your head like that. Why expose yourself to the critics when you know this picture might just cause problems,”

Really now?

I mean every family is different. Some are more affectionate than others but at the end of the day, a child needs to feel loved and kissing them is one way of showing them that you do.

If you’re not comfortable with kissing your child on the lips, that’s also fine, but it’s not wrong either. What is wrong here, however, is criticizing another Mom, for having a different view to theirs! It’s really not right to judge someone else for doing something which you don’t agree with. It’s her child… who is not being harmed in any way.

I really feel for these celebrity Moms. Their every move is scrutinized about every little thing they do or don’t do….. but just like the rest of us Moms – they are really just trying to do the best they can do!

I’m glad she hasn’t deleted or said anything about these nasty comments – It’s your child and you do what feels right Victoria!

Honestly what nonsense! My boys adore kissing me on the mouth – my daughter prefers a forehead or cheek. But that is fine. On the other hand = you do not have to kiss aunties and uncles in the family. The kids’ choice
