I always admire people who notice the silver lining. Sometimes I am the person who notices it, but other times I can’t help but focus on the darkness of the cloud and I end up spending way too much time on what will happen if that cloud should burst! At that time it seems so hard to find joy in day to day life.
It’s so easy to go down that negative train of thought and often it is needless.
Positive energy is also infectious, so I try to train my brain to look for a positive which helps me stay cool, calm and collected.
Here are a few ways I do just that:
8 Simple Ways to Find Joy in Your Day To Day Life
Don’t Worry Too Much
Happiness sometimes works in mysterious ways and it has everything to do with how our brains work.
It has nothing to do with the people or forces around us. The secret to your own happiness lies in your own thinking patterns and affects what you say and do!
Nobody else can change your patterns, only you!
I always try to remember this.
Appreciate the small things
There are some small moments or things that often go unnoticed and unappreciated. We take things for granted and only allow ourselves to celebrate big accomplishments.
But often the things that matter most are the small ones. Like when you manage to tick a few small items off your to-do-list for the week or when you manage to spend some quality time with your partner.
Surround yourself with positive people.
This is soooo important!
Every choice we make is influenced by the people in our lives. Imagine what a difference it will make if you only had positive people in your circle! You can dramatically increase your chances for happiness.
Making a positive new friend into your world can literally be one of the most important choices for happiness that you will ever make.
Laugh a lot
When was the last time that you really laughed?
When we are preoccupied with all of our adulting responsibilities, we just don’t get to giggle as often as we did when we were kids.
Alyssa and Aidan spend a lot of their time laughing and it really rubs off on me.
Laughing is known to reduce stress, strengthen relationships and enhance immunity.
Make a bucket list
You know I love my bucket lists!
Each time I complete one of these checked boxes, there is a moment where I can honestly say that I’ve found bliss. Is that weird?
I am literally bursting with joy and feel like I have a purpose. It’s most likely the pride, triumph and a form of self-love and just makes me feel alive.
Add happiness to your life…. right now!
I can’t think of one person who wouldn’t want to be happy. We all deal with stress and daily demands that have a huge impact on our level of happiness.
But life would also be rather boring if we didn’t have these obstacles to overcome.
So until we can remove all of our responsibilities or win the lotto or something, the good news is that there are ways to add some happiness in our lives right now!
Find something or someone that makes you smile and you’ll watch those stress levels drop and have more reasons to to be happy about!
