As one of South Africa’s most recognised and trusted brands, Jungle Oats has proven they are the energy champion, maintaining their prominent position in consumer awareness for almost a century and last week I was privileged to attend a breakfast hosted by Jungle Oats at the Capsicum Culinary School in Woodstock. It was a really amazing culinary experience, as we did not only get to taste the amazing Jungle oats creations but also got the opportunity to watch it being made by Expresso Chef, Zola Nene while listening to some great nutritional advice from Professional Nutritionist Joanna Wilson.

We were first greeted by an executive of Tiger Brands who explained that “Oats are a reliable and wholesome source of long-lasting fuel for your body. Jungle Oats helps you start strong and stay ahead. Whatever kind of champion you are, we have a natural source of energy for you.” She then went on to add that Jungle Oats’ new strap line “Have a good breakfast, you have a big life ahead of you” emphasis the importance of breakfast as essential for sustained energy for mental and physical readiness. No matter who you are, you have the ability to become a champion with the right preparation”

Zola then started off with showing us how to make a proper bowl of oats – not just a quick pop in the microwave job – but a slow cook on top of the stove with just the right amount of sugar and butter. We then got to try out and watch 3 awesome dishes being made including the yummiest Spicy baked eggs with oat flapjacks… AMAZING! I also did not know how simple it is to make rusks…

The breakfast ended off with some parenting advice from Melissa Raubenheimer, Early Childhood Development Expert which I found extremely useful. On our way out, we were handed a gorgeous crate full of Jungle Oats products and some fresh ingredients to try our own hand at some of the amazing recipes which was shared.

You may have noticed in store that all Jungle packaging has been given a new look; everything from the original South African favourite, Jungle Oats boxes to the Jungle Energy bars, which is now bolder and brighter. They’ve also introduced new product lines, like Crunchalots for kids and Jungle Ultra, as well as the on-the-go Jungle Oatso Easy Cups.

Alyssa is not a big cereal fan but she has really been loving the Chocolate flavored Crunchalots which I received in the Hamper. Thank you Jungle Oats for the introduction to it!
