Forget Detox, Let’s TeaTox With Carmién Tea

I’m all about giving credit when credit is due, but probably not so much when it comes to myself. Are you the same?

I must, however, give myself a pat on the back for making a change and sticking to it. During the heart of Winter, I said goodbye to my night time snacking and got back onto the straight and narrow by following a healthy eating plan and upping my fitness game.

Then I hit a bit of a slump. Although I already lost a few kg’s and was continuing to stick to my plan, my weight plateaued and I needed something to give my metabolism a boost again.

That’s why I was so happy when Carmien Tea sent me their Teatox plan to try out.

The Carmién Teatox is the ideal healthy way to detoxify. It is a 3-step process combined with healthy eating and exercising. Detoxification is the body’s natural process of neutralizing and eliminating toxins. Toxins are waste products that result from normal cell activity and chemicals that we are exposed to in our environment, food, and water. The liver, intestines, kidneys, lungs, skin, blood, and lymphatic systems work together to transform toxins into less harmful compounds and excrete them from the body.

It’s a short-term diet that can help with toxin removal and promote weight loss (with the aid of the Carmien specially created detox teas). The TeaTox follows the following principles:

  • Minimize your intake of chemicals (for example, by eating organic food);
  • Eat foods that provide the vitamins, nutrients, and antioxidants that the body needs for detoxification;
  • Eat foods, such as fibre-rich foods, and hydrate with your favourite Carmién rooibos tea or water, which increases the frequency of bowel movements and urination.

The Carmién Detox Energise tea has been the saviour which has gotten me out of that slump.  It’s a blend of buchu, hoodia, guarana and raspberry flavoured rooibos. I find it best to drink in the morning as it’s gives me energy I need for my day. Hoodia was traditionally used to suppress appetite and Buchu helps to reduce water retention and to flush away toxins in the body. The benefits of Rooibos tea is that it’s energising, fat burning, immunity boosting.

The Guarana fruit which contains caffeine is cleansing, energising and also aids weight loss. The Hoodia is an appetite suppressant and the Buchu serves as a detox agent, appetite suppressant and can also relieve symptoms of high blood pressure and reduce water retention.

The Carmién Detox Cleanse tea has certainly helped me feel less bloated and has eased my digestion. It is a perfectly selected blend of natural herbs, senna, lemongrass, ginger, spearmint and green rooibos. Best to drink in the evenings to give the herbs time to do their cleansing. Senna is known as a mild natural laxative and the lemongrass, ginger and mint soothe and ease digestion and will help relieve the bloated feeling after eating, which has just been great for me.

The Carmién Teatox bath bags are created with choice rooibos and epsom salt combined with a beautifully fragrant blend of calendula, rose petals, lavender, camomile flowers and rose buds. It eases stress and improves sleep and concentration, reduces inflammation to relieve pain and muscle cramps, improves oxygen use and flushes out toxins. It also improves absorption of nutrients and helps prevent or ease migraine headaches. With all the water restrictions happening, I wasn’t prepared to use it in the bath, so I opted to use it in a foot spa instead which still has many benefits.

The gift box I received also contained a box of Recovery Buchu and Grapeseed Rooibos which is absolutely lovely and refreshing after a hard workout. Carmien Recovery is a perfect blend of the finest rooibos, buchu and grape seed extract. While buchu is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, both rooibos and grape seed extract are sources of antioxidants, making this tea ideal for supporting sports recovery and a busy lifestyle.

    Article came at the best time. This week I began with my new eating plan. Reducing sugar and bread. Increasing water intake. Will definitely try the tea. I know it’s not going to be easy, but i must look after myself.

      No better time like the present to start. I found the first few days the hardest, but then my body adjusted and I hardly have any cravings. Let me know how it goes xxx
