I’m usually sceptical about doing reviews about products I haven’t tried out myself, but when I was introduced to Iontoderma and heard and read about what their product has proven to do – I realised I’d be selfish not to share this valuable information with my readers who may benefit from this information or know someone who would.

Did you know that Excessive Sweating is a condition that touches about 5% of the population, but nobody seems to want to talk about it?

Most people sweat as a reaction to environment (hot temperatures) or emotion (stress).

It’s a completely normal reaction to these circumstances. For those who suffer from excessive sweating, the reaction is tenfold and often unprovoked. Excessive sweating is referred to in the medical community as Hyperhidrosis. It is a condition that isn’t often talked about because people are often too embarrassed or don’t know it’s a condition they can get treatment for.

The medical field has long ignored hyperhidrosis because they didn’t think it was a condition, often mistaking it as a symptom of stress. Studies are scarce because medical professionals didn’t see it as a priority as it doesn’t affect functionality or degenerate.

There are two types of hyperhidrosis. Primary or focal hyperhidrosis manifests itself in specific areas like the hands, feet, or armpits. Secondary hyperhidrosis, or the increased sweating of the entire body, is usually the result of some underlying condition.

Though your body has between 2 and 4 million sweat glands, most are eccrine glands and concentrated in the hands and feet. This sweat is mostly water and is secreted when the temperature rises or when you exert yourself. The apocrine glands, concentrated in the armpits and genitals is considered to be thicker and richer in nutrients. Bacteria thrive off of these nutrients.

Often, people develop symptoms of hyperhidrosis in their teens, while some have suffered since childhood. The secondary effects are often said to be more of a burden than the sweating itself. Often the anxiety of social interactions creates a vicious circle in which those who suffer from hyperhidrosis worry about their sweating being recognized by others, therefore, creating more sweat.

Most people experience high stress triggered sweating before a job interview, a meeting or public speaking event. Those who suffer from hyperhidrosis may become anxious in these or social situations, which increases the amount of sweat creating a vicious circle.

Since 1968, tap water iontophoresis has been employed as the method of choice for treating palmoplantar hyperhidrosis.

Tap water iontophoresis is a treatment for excessive sweating that interferes with the sweat glands just below the outer layer of the skin. This treatment positively treats more than 90% of cases of patients with palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating of the hands or feet).

These kinds of treatments can be expensive, but with the Iontoderma Iontophoresis iD-1000, there’s a more affordable option for sweaty hands and feet – that has proven to work!

How do I know this, without even being a big “sweater” or having tried out the product?

You-tube of course…

I found SO many positive reviews about the product. Here are a few to help you decide if it can work for you.
