We had the opportunity of literally showing Alyssa the birds and bees this weekend when we took a Sunday drive around the peninsula. It got me thinking though…. we will actually have to give her that talk one day! I know how extremely awkward that conversation was with my Mom and I hope that when we chat to Alyssa it won’t be half as intense. Yes WE….. My hubby and I both brought her into this world so we both have to cross that bridge together. Of course there are books and the internet that can practically give you a script of what to say but I doubt it will make that coversation any easier.
On Saturday morning I had a date with Jade, a consultant at the Bobbi Brown store in Canal walk. I am not big on make up and always keep it very very simple (like mascara and lip gloss, that’s it!) , so i thought i would sign up for a make-up lesson to learn how to spice things up a bit!
Bobbi Browns mission is to teach every women to be her own make up artist and that was exactly what I came to learn…
Alyssa and I were like WHATEVER this weekend, enjoying the li’l bit of sunshine Cape Town had to offer.
I found both our “Whatever” jerseys at Mr Price – i just had to grab them when I saw them. As far as i know, the saying “Whatever” was made popular by the 90’s movie Clueless. Anyone who knew me back then would know that i was totally obsessed with the movie…. so obsessed that i would watch it every single day as soon as I arrived home from school while pretending to do my homework. I memorised almost every line of the movie and I used “Whatever”, “as If” or “thats like so five years ago” in almost every sentance. (I think i may still use these phrases…. perhaps not that often now)
With our home renovations nearing completion, my husband and I began arranging, sorting and re-packing our new kitchen this past weekend. It took longer than expected due to the fact that we had a 16 month old trying to help us…. you know how that story goes.
I must admit that I do not spend much time cooking in the kitchen and my hubby is definitely the Masterchef of our household, but i do love spending quality family time in that space.
While we were packing, i decided to take pictures of some of my treasures which have sentimental value to me… its definitely not the biltong maker or vintage sandwich press which the hubby would deem treasures…
