January is almost over… can you believe it! By now you and your family should be in the full swing of school and work which means that you must be feeling the pressure of packed lunches every morning. As a family, we are focusing on a healthier lifestyle but we are finding that buying and preparing food takes a lot of time.
Ensuring that your family has a nutritionally balanced and exciting lunch box each morning is stressful enough without having to stand in queues or carry heavy shopping bags. The good news is that family owned online food retailer CNC products and Food Fantasy have expanded from solely supplying five star hotels and restaurants to now being 100% online to making your lunchbox shopping quick and easy! I got to try out their services recently and was quite impressed.
So Alyssa and I have finally convinced her Dad to allow her to get her ears pierced. I wanted to do it when she was a little baby but under no circumstances did he allow it. Most jewelry stores only do it for kids 3 years and older anyway, however there are stores that do it at any age. My take was that the earlier it’s done, the sooner it’s forgotten.
I can actually remember the day that my Mom took me to get mine pierced. I was about 5 or 6 years old and I remember her telling me that it would just feel like a little pin prick. I remember it being a lot worse than that, so I must admit I was a bit scared about taking Alyssa.
When I made my resolutions for 2016, I thought the phrase Healthy Mind, Body and Soul was appropriate. This includes using naturally derived products and foods for the benefit of my family and thanks to the lovely people over at Healing Earth, Alyssa has been using the new Beauties and Buddies product range which is just so fitting with my motto for the year.
The Beauties and Buddies range consists of a fun and naturally fragrant lavender & jasmine bubble bath, peppermint shower gel, mango & sweet orange body scrub, aloe vera face & body gel, and sweet orange and lemon 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner containing only the purest chemical-free ingredients.
The Mother City was literally on Fire this weekend, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees in some parts. This seems to be one of the warmest and dryest Summer’s I’ve certainly experienced and we are only in January! It’s difficult to get a good nights sleep in such ridiculously warm weather and it’s even harder to keep the little ones comfortable.
When it’s warm out, we tend to spend lots of time in the pool or at the beach but it’s important to remember that babies and young children can become ill during very hot weather like we are currently experiencing. Their health can be seriously affected by sunburn, dehydration, heat exhaustion and sunstroke. Therefore in hot weather it’s really important to ensure your little one is not overheating.
