When I received the press release about Domestly, South Africa’s first on-demand cleaning app, it couldn’t have come at a better time. Our Domestic Worker was about to take a week’s leave and we were on our own, cleaning wise!
Domestly gave me a voucher to use on their app, whereby I could quickly browse profiles of available professional cleaners in my area and then immediately book and pay for their service.
I tried it out and I must say, I was really impressed. The service provides total piece of mind by conveniently offering the opportunity to find a reliable cleaner without worrying about long term contracts. You can view in-depth profiles of each cleaner, who have all been thoroughly vetted, that include ratings and reviews from previous customers. Once a preferred profile has been found, you can book a date and time that is convenient for both parties.
I made the booking on a Sunday morning, which was confirmed a few hours later and the cleaner arrived on the day according to plan. She cleaned our home really well and we were so thankful to have our home spic and span again!
Whether it’s spring cleaning, the aftermath of ‘that’ dinner party, the days’ notice you receive from unexpected houseguests or whenever you just need an extra ‘pair of hands’, Domestly can assist with such occasions by connecting busy people to reliable cleaning professionals.
Domestly was launched in Cape Town towards the end of 2015 and has since facilitated the creation of over 600 sustainable jobs with this number growing steadily as the footprint of the app extends. Within the next year, Domestly has forecasted bringing an additional 1500 professional cleaners on board.
To date, the app has expanded its service from Cape Town to include Johannesburg North (Rosebank, Fourways and Sandton) with near-future plans to become available in Pretoria, Midrand and Centurion followed by KwaZulu-Natal by the end of the year.
The Domestly app is free to download for both user and cleaner or cleaning company. All payments for services are conveniently handled within the app via credit card as well as an option to pay by ETF.
The service is currently available online at www.domestly.com or as an app for iPhone and Android.
