We decided to visit the town of Montagu and stayed at the House On The Hill on Glen Eden Farm.

Nestled on the outskirts of the Twistniet Nature Reserve, the House on the Hill is self-catered accommodation which sleeps four people. It has a cosy living area, fully equipped kitchen and outdoor dining area. The neighbouring countryside is just truly sublime, known for its agriculture with sprawling vineyards and orchards as far as the eye can see.

With hiking trails, a fishing dam and a petting zoo on site we really didn’t need anything else to keep the kids entertained. Of course, the cute animals stole their hearts, especially Cody the sweetest Alpaca on earth! From the moment we arrived, Cody could not stop staring at me and followed my tracks! I missed him the moment we left.

The house on the hill also has its own private little garden which we absolutely adored spending time out there. The backyard view took our breath away!

Although our stay was short, it was just what the Doctor ordered.
