A letter to Alyssa on her 3rd Birthday

Dear Alyssa

Three years ago God Blessed us with a gorgeous daughter who changed our lives forever and today we are celebrating that blessing!

This past year has been a major adjustment for  you (and us). One moment you were our little baby and the next you were a Big sister. You’ve grown so much and your strong personality has just come to light this past year. You surprise us each and every day with the things you say, the complements you give us and the way you make us laugh.

Over the past 12 months you have been so brave – whilst dealing with the arrival of a sibling, you’ve said goodbye to nappies, to your night time bottle and the infamous dummy. We had to endure some toddler tantrums through it all but you’ve now learnt to express yourself better and we are sometimes amazed at the words you have added to your vocabulary. You already show so much diligence and passion in all that you do – you absolutely have to complete any task that you start and you always do it to the best of your ability.

In Greek the meaning of the name Alyssa is: Logical. It also means Joy and great happiness and that is my wish for you now and forever. Our precious girl, may you always enjoy life in this way. If times ever get tough or hard for you then just come to me or Dad – We’ll try our best to sort it out – whatever the problem may be. If ever you feel sad then know that we will do our best to make it all go away.

We hope you have a fabulous day and year ahead Big Girl.

Lots of Love

Mom and Dad
