I’ve had the Kidloland app downloaded on my phone for a good few years! My kids have made use of it from the toddler phase right up until now where they are in their preschool years.
In fact, I shared a review previously!
The app has however been updated a few times since then, now offering content for Kids for up to 8 years.
The app now includes Algebra, Geometry, Science, Geography, Coding & more – which is the perfect type of content for Alyssa to start becoming familiar with.
Recently I ran a poll on my Facebook page whereby I asked parents of kids between the ages of 1 and 7 whether they have exposed their children to any apps and close to 40% of these parents haven’t!
It’s no surprise to me as I too was a bit skeptical about screen time for kids this young. If you search the internet, you will see its a much-discussed topic among parents around the world.
But according to a majority of parents (just like the survey results indicate), screen time is alright only if the content is educational and rightly so!
I think that as long as a child is getting a lot of normal physical play time , a few minutes of exposure to an educational app can help with their early learning, help them grow cognitively and also sharpen their fine motor skills!
Kidloland App
Alyssa is familiar with writing all the letters of the alphabet. However, she sometimes writes some of them back to front. The “Learn To Trace” function on the Kidloland App helps her to trace and get familiar with the letters which she struggles with sometimes.
The app is also very interactive, so the kids are not just staring into the screen. They can listen, trace, laugh, sing along and really get into it. It’s actually quite funny to see how involved Alyssa and Aidan get into their sing along!
I’m excited to get into the Early Reading and phonics with Alyssa. She’s just started working on this at school, so this will be a nice way to keep her ahead of the curve and help her understanding in a fun and interactive way.
