I’m all about living my best life and am always on the lookout for positive and inspiring stories – whether it be personal or business related. Whenever I hear about people’s successes and journeys, it leaves me feeling motivated and makes me want to reach my full potential.
This is exactly why I was so excited when Catherine Wijnberg’s new book, Sheep Will Never Rule The World, landed on my desk.
Sheep Will Never Rule The World, By Catherine Wijnberg
Catherine Wijnberg is a successful serial entrepreneur who has made it her life’s goal to help others succeed! She lives in Cape Town and has been involved in a range of business ventures including import-export, farming, transportation, an apartment hotel, recruitment, metaphysical healing and architectural software before starting Fetola in 2006.
Her debut volume, Sheep Will Never Rule The World, was born out of the inspirational greetings that Wijnberg continues to publish weekly on her personal blog. The slew of fan e-mail thanking Wijnberg for sharing her insights sent in over the last three years is what prompted the realization that a book could help even more people overcome their hurdles and conquer personal demons…..
The book contains simple but compelling advice drawn from Wijnberg’s experience in life and business and empowers people with practical skills and resources.
How the Book Has Helped Me
When I first received the book, I read it all in one sitting. I couldn’t get enough of the collected wisdoms and I already felt inspired! The charming and humorous illustrations by Patrick Latimer also kept me going…
It was so weird, but with every single pearl of wisdom shared in the book, I found myself dwelling on a situation in my own life. That’s when I decided to make the book a part of my daily morning routine.
Before I start my work day, I read one of the wisdoms for a little bit of motivation and I absolutely love how I can apply it during my day.
Here’s an example of one of Wijnberg’s pearls of wisdom which you’ll find in the book:
“Too many foolish decisions are made in the heat of the moment. As leaders, we need to learn to recognise a period of high anxiety and have strategies to enable us to step away from it. Simple steps can make a difference.
Take a few deep breaths, speak to a mentor, switch off your phone/ computer, go for a walk. The calm this generates will enable you to see the bigger picture.
Once the brain has left its highly anxious state, you will be able to make choices that are true to your principles; decisions you are proud of and that reflect the essence of who you are.
Taking action while experiencing high anxiety is like driving through a red robot. Stop, breathe and re-balance yourself, and then act!”
This is just a taste of it!
