Four Fun Things I’ve Done Recently

This year has been challenging to say the least. However, there have been many hidden blessings through all the craziness.

We’ve all had to adapt to a new normal and find joy in these new ways of doing things.

After months of not venturing outside of our home, I’ve slowly started venturing outdoors (responsibly) and its been good for the soul!

I thought I’d share a few things that made me really happy recently and hopefully it will inspire you to do something that will make you smile too.

Four Fun Things I’ve Done Recently

Raclette Dinner

On Sunday Kurt and I celebrated our 12 year wedding anniversary. Reminiscing on our wedding and honeymoon to Europe, we had fond memories of all the food and good dinners that we had.

While in Switzerland, my family treated us to a Raclette Dinner at their home which was the very first time Kurt and I were introduced to the concept.

It’s a very social way of enjoying your food. The grill heats multiple small pans in which guests melt the raclette cheese with vegetables and other toppings of your choice.

I also happened to see that the raclette grill was now available to purchase at a number of stores locally and I decided to get one.

So we decided to chop up all of our favourite foods and had an awesome family dinner.

The kids absolutely loved it and can’t wait for us to do it again!

Candle Making Workshop With Studio Melissa Louise

This past Saturday, I spent the morning with a group of women and we were hosted by Melissa who is one of the most inspiring and creative women I know!

Melissa hosted a hands-on candle making workshop which focused on the basics of candle making, specifically vegan soy wax scented massage candles.

Not only did we get to blend our own scent and hand pour our very own candles, Melissa also gave so much valuable insights about taking a physical product into the digital world and creating a personal brand on social media.

I attended the session together with a friend, which made it double the fun!

It was such an awesome morning and would definitely recommend the workshop to anyone who is keen on learning a new skill or just in the mood to get creative.

Melissa is hosting a couple more workshops before the end of the year if you’re keen – you can find out more here.

A Walk With Hubby

After being cooped up in the house for months with the kids, Kurt and I recently took 2 days off from work and took some time out. We had some free time while the kids were at school and it was bliss!

On the one day, we went out for lunch and took a nice long walk around the Waterfront area. It was so refreshing to get out and have a bit of sunshine.

If you have the opportunity to take time out while the kids are at school – I highly recommend it!

Binge-Watched Emily In Paris

I was a bit skeptical about watching the Netflix series, Emily in Paris, after reading a number of mixed reviews.

I decided to give it ago and was pleasantly surpised. Yes, it may be a bit far fetched in a few ways but I absolutely loved the Parisian views and the fashion!

If you loved The Devil Wears Prada, I think you will love this one!

That’s it from me! Anything fun you’ve done recently? I would love to hear.
