Wondering what to do with the kids on a cold wet day these winter holidays?
Look no further than a watery adventure under the sea with an adaptation of Hans Christian Andersen’s tale of The Little Mermaid. The captivating story of curiosity, friendship and love that crosses all borders, will feature a stand out cast, magnificent costumes, breath-taking sets and charmed puppets that will thrill the whole family in a magical musical makeover at this year’s Canal Walk Theatre.
A pack of interesting ice age animals have elected to set-up home in the Centre Court at Canal Walk this year!
Eager to meet busy bodies and curious minds, are a collection of woolly mammoths, sabre-toothed tigers, a terra bird, including a magical Irish Elk.
There’s also plenty of thrilling fun with a variety of icy slides: A 4-metre high ‘Iceberg’, a double-lane Glacier and even an icicle (for the not so brave).
The time has come!
School is out and you’re probably wondering how on earth are you going to keep the kids entertained for over a month.
Don’t despair – I’ve made a list of all the places which have lots in store for your kids – and there’s something to suit every age group:
The Winter Holidays are here and Family fun and entertainment is set at Canal Walk Shopping Centre with the much-anticipated annual theatre production! This year, the age-old tale of ‘giving and equality for all’ comes to life with the telling of Robin Hood, as Centre Court is transformed into Sherwood Forest and Nottingham Castle.
On Saturday I got to take Alyssa and her 2 cousins to see the production and we really enjoyed it. Alyssa hadn’t really heard about Robin Hood, prior to the show so the storyline was completely new to her. I think her cousins who are a little older (aged 5 and 8) comprehended it a little better and were intrigued every minute.
