The time has come!
School is out and you’re probably wondering how on earth are you going to keep the kids entertained for over a month.
Don’t despair – I’ve made a list of all the places which have lots in store for your kids – and there’s something to suit every age group:
Bugz Play Park
We visited Bugz Playpark last month and Alyssa is still talking about it. Bugz is all about learning through play and there is something for all ages!
It makes a great family day out and believe me, the kids will want to make sure they’ve explored every part of the park before they go home.
Visit the Bugz website for more information.
Visit Paarl during the ProePaarl Festival
Paarl is buzzing at the moment with the month long ProePaarl festival. There are many venues, restaurants and picnic spots participating in the festival, with lots of fun in store. Check out the full programme here to find all the participating venues.
We visited the Afrikaanse Taalmonument recently for some exploring and had breakfast at the Volksmond restaurant.I was very impressed as they have a lovely menu for both adults and kids, a play area and the view is just magnificent!
Oh and when you’re in Paarl, don’t forget to post your #Spoonfie and tag #ProePaarl and @paarl_tourism on Instagram and stand a chance to win 3 bottles of @perdebergwinery Dryland Collection Wine
Ice Adventure @ Canal Walk
Canal Walk Shopping Centre is literally the ‘cool’ place to be this festive holiday season. Canal Walk’s ‘Ice Adventure’ in association with Baskin Robbins, will entertain visitors – young and old, big and small – from 2 December 2016 – 8 January 2017, from 10H00 in the morning till 10H00 at night (with the exception of 25th December).
We had a blast at the media launch where we got to test out the rides, see the huge ice creatures and also got our first taste of the delicious Baskin Robbins ice-cream.
Santa is just outside the outside adventure, so you can get your family Christmas picture taken before or after the show.
Enjoy a meal at John Dory’s
If you want to organise a play date for your kids – why not hook up with your Mom-pal’s and enjoy some sushi and bubbles at John Dory’s in Canal Walk? The kids can play to their hearts content in the kiddies play area while the ladies catch up.
Us Moms are all about multi-tasking aren’t we?
A few weeks ago, I spent the afternoon with fellow Mommy Bloggers and their kids at John Dory’s and it was the perfect spot for us ladies to sit back and relax while the kids were having fun in the play area!
V & A Waterfront
The V & A Waterfront never disappoints when it comes to kids activities and this year’s no different. This holiday check out the Petting Zoo, Zip Zap circus or visit Santa’s workshop and let your child tell Santa what’s on the wishlist this year.

Dino’s Alive
Are your kids big Dinosaur Fans like Alyssa is? Then this one is for you…
The DinosAlive exhibition, an interactive showcase of the reptiles of prehistoric ages and has set up camp in Cape Gate Shopping Centre. They will be there until the 08 January.
All of the 25 animatronic (allowed to animate) dinosaurs on display are modelled in immaculate detail after their ancestors to give visitors a true taste of the time when these magnificent lizards roamed the earth. The gentle giant, Triceratops, cinema celebrity, Velociraptor and South African Pachycephalosaurus are only some of the popular attractions on display. The life-sized T-Rex model (the only one of its kind in South Africa) is a staggering 7-metres tall and is truly a spectacle to behold.
Tickets are available at Computicket – don’t miss out!
Picnic and Play at Green Point Urban Park
We haven’t been to the park in a while, so this is definitely something on our list for this holiday!
All we will need is our picnic basket, blanket and sun hat and we’ll enjoy the beautiful scenery. I love the fact that there are designated play areas for different age groups and the kids will get a chance to race with their scooters along the path!

How’s this for a throwback
Happy Holidays!
