I spent my Saturday morning with the best Mommy Bloggers in Cape Town! Cindy Alfino from 3 Kids 2 Dogs 1 House was the organizer and host of the meet up and done an AMAZING job! We met at Graze in Kenilworth – such an awesome venue – I’m definitely going back with my family very soon. They have the most fabulous kiddies menu ever and their Grilled ham and cheese, poached egg and mushroom sauce breakfast is just heavenly.
Only 8 weeks to go! I can’t believe it. This pregnancy seems to be flying by…
What’s happening with #2?
#2 is currently the size of a melon, weighs about 1.75kg and 41cm in length. He was still lying in breech at my last doctors visit 3 weeks ago and I am hoping that he has turned or will turn into a head-down position before I go into labour. I can’t wait for my next doctor’s visit which is on Friday, to see what he is up to!
With Alyssa settled in at school, her 2nd birthday party underway and all our little home improvements completed, we can finally start preparing the nursery for our little boy who is due to arrive in just 8 weeks! I’m excited about creating a special space for our son, where we’ll be spending a lot of time. I want a space that feels appropriate for a baby, but also something practical that would feel connected with the rest of our home.We are reusing many of the basic pieces from when Alyssa was little, but I am hoping to transform the room so that we still get that “new” feeling before baby arrives.
One of my really good friends, Nicole, has a new-found interest which is turning into something really awesome and I couldn’t be happier when she agreed to make Alyssa’s birthday cake. She was also kind enough to give a step-by-step guide on how she made the cake, should one of you ever want to try your hand at one! Here are her notes:
It all started on Thursday evening. As a part time baker, the key ingredient to advance baking is the additional ingredients for a soft moist cake. Hayley asked for a one tier chocolate cake & I added a special pink sponge layer which created this beautifully tall naked cake in all her glory.
