Alyssa’s My Little Pony Themed Party

So my Big Girl turned 4 last week and to celebrate, we hosted friends and family at the Black Bull Steakhouse for a My Little Pony themed party.

Let’s just say, Alyssa and I were equally responsible for the choice of theme – but I must admit, I’m crazy over these colorful creatures. Not only because of the infectious colours, but I love how ponies celebrate life – honouring friendship and kindness to others! Each Pony is unique and colourful in it’s own right.

Preparing for the party was absolute bliss – with the help of Pinterest of course. There are so many ideas for the theme, however, My little Pony decor and favours are not as easy to find, as opposed to some of the Disney-themed characters. After shopping around and doing some DIY though, I was able to pull it off.

I managed to find serviettes and cups from takealot. Just by chance, I spotted a kid walking around a shopping mall with Pinkie Pie Glasses and McDonalds soft-drink and was then able to get some from the store for all the kids at the party!

Then came the DIY. I decided on Bucket and Spade sets as holders for the party packs, as the restaurant has a play area with a sandpit, so the kids could put it good use. As the creatures of Equestria gladly allow – I could go crazy with the colours. I printed off some My Little Pony cutie thank you cards and ponies from Pinterest and glued them onto the boxes. Alyssa gladly helped me with the cutting and glueing  – she was in her element. For the centrepieces she also helped with some painting.

I was a bit nervous when we woke up that morning, as there were a few drizzles falling down but the cooler weather was actually welcomed and it turned out perfectly as noon approached.

I was running slighty late but thankfully a few early birds arrived and became my events team. Thank you guys, you were amazing!!! It was awesome teamwork. Next time, I am just going to ask you to come and help me beforehand 🙂

The food was really good and I was glad to see most kids eating their food before digging into their party buckets and heading off to play some more.
