If I’m going to be honest with myself and you – last year I was stretched too thin.
I had so many balls in the air last year that by the time I went on leave in December, I was so burnt out. My body felt it. My lower back was in a complete spasm. I felt exhausted all the time and I could literally just sleep all day every day! My body was literally forcing me to relax and take it easy.
While on leave I read a few books, one being Essentialism – The Disciplined Pursuit of Less by Greg Mckeown and it’s just what the Doctor ordered!
When Cindy from 3 Kids 2 Dogs & 1 Old House tweeted in search of pals to join a book club, I was keen to hear more. I love reading, but between work, home-life, blogging, writing etc. it’s been difficult to find the time to actually find a book that catches my interest and then obviously get down to reading it. Well, as I always say – if you want to do something, you have to make the time!
I always loved watching Oprah’s book club on her talk show but always thought I was way too young to be part of a book club. Which means… I must be getting old.
