I was super excited when my first book from our newly formed Book Club arrived last month and I really didn’t expect the emotional roller-coaster which would come from reading this first book.

The book couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s a memoir by Photographer, Blogger and writer Kelle Hampton who shares her experience of giving birth to her second child, a gorgeous little girl who was born with Down Syndrome. The Down Syndrome diagnosis was only discovered after the birth and in the first few chapters, Kelle vividly describes those first few days of how she came to terms with it. Definitely a big pill to swallow, but the support from her friends and family who surrounded her really got her through that trying time.

The Winter Holidays are here and Family fun and entertainment is set at Canal Walk Shopping Centre with the much-anticipated annual theatre production! This year, the age-old tale of ‘giving and equality for all’ comes to life with the telling of Robin Hood, as Centre Court is transformed into Sherwood Forest and Nottingham Castle.

On Saturday I got to take Alyssa and her 2 cousins to see the production and we really enjoyed it. Alyssa hadn’t really heard about Robin Hood, prior to the show so the storyline was completely new to her. I think her cousins who are a little older (aged 5 and 8) comprehended it a little better and were intrigued every minute.

A Work In Progress

I used to blog and write from our dining room table in the evenings which started to become rather uncomfortable. My blogging and writing started off as a hobby but has really become my “thing” and this year I’ve decided to invest in myself and have my own little sanctuary.

So every evening, after the kids are asleep and before I join my hubby in bed (ooh la la), I now have my own little space to let my creative juices flow.

What used to be a reading corner in our lounge, where a bookshelf and one-seater was, is now my “office”. It’s still a work in progress, decor wise, but its coming together. It’s missing some family photo’s and some stationary but we almost there…
