Celebrating Baby’s First Year – Seth

This series has been rather quiet on the blog lately, but I really love doing these features – especially when the subject is someone who is dear to me.

Meet Seth – He’s just turned 1 and he is just the cutest little pudding pie!

I met his Mom Sandra over 3 years ago – just a few weeks before I gave birth to Alyssa. Sandra works at a leading beauty salon and at the time, I was looking to have a treatment done. Never in my whole entire life, have I felt so comfortable and at ease!

Over the years we have gotten to know each other well and Sandra really is just one in a million! I can tell you – there are not many people out there like her. She is so sincere and thoughtful. Seth is absolutely blessed to have a Mom like her.

Book Club – The Last Juror By John Grisham

I’m not going to lie, but when I received last month’s book in our Book club , I was definitely not as excited as I was when I received the previous month’s book – Bloom.

For some reason, I thought that I’d seen “the movie” and based on the inscription left inside by the previous reader – it seemed like an “average” or “ok” read.

Well, I didn’t see the movie – in fact, I’m not even sure if there was a movie made!

Cabin Fever Is Getting To Us

Winter used to be my favourite season, but since becoming a Mom, my opinion has been swayed somewhat. Winter no longer just means sipping on a glass of red and chilling by the fire place – in fact, theres not even many opportunities for that anymore. Nowadays, Winter means snotty noses, depleted medical aid savings and cabin fever!

Last week alone, we had 3 trips to the paedetrician! The wave of germs started last weekend already and Alyssa was so dissapointed that she had to miss a friends birthday party.

Educational Apps Alyssa Is Loving Right Now

I’m always conscious about the warnings about too much screen time for little eyes, but I’ve come to the conclusion that like everything else in life, there needs to be a balance.

As long as my kids get lots of unstructured play and outdoor time each day, a little bit of screen time won’t hurt – especially if they are learning from it. Alyssa loves watching play dough and craft DIY’s on YouTube which are simple to find, but until recently I was struggling to find really good educational apps.

I was so happy when a few local App providers contacted me to give Alyssa the opportunity to try out some great educational Apps which are suitable for growing minds. She is loving them at them at the moment! Here’s a list of her favourite’s:
