I’m sure I’d survive but would certainly miss I’m sure I’d survive but would certainly miss these 🥹

No spoilers here , but Yesteryear is taking me on a rollercoaster 🎢 As the lead character, Natalie is transported to the 1800’s and dwells on the present, it will shock you in more ways than one 😃 We are about halfway through the readalong and let me tell you how hard it is to pause after each section 🤭

If you were to be transported to the 1800’s what modern technologies and conveniences would you miss most?

The easiest RSVP I ever sent 🤩 Some invitation The easiest RSVP I ever sent 🤩

Some invitations are simply too good to decline.
I had the pleasure of attending the launch of Jenny Morris’ latest cookbook, Greedy Girl, where we were treated to a beautiful lunch inspired by recipes from its pages. From the food to the conversation around the table, it was a wonderful reminder of how food brings people together.

Thanks @jennymorrischef and @penguinbookssouthafrica for such a memorable afternoon. I’m already looking forward to trying a few of these recipes this weekend.

It’s the small shifts that suddenly make me real It’s the small shifts that suddenly make me realise she’s growing up right in front of me! The extra time spent getting ready.

The confidence quietly growing in the everyday moments, the way she’s becoming more independent, more self-assured, and a little less little every day 💛

I love being able to support her through this phase with routines that help her feel fresh, comfortable. I chose the @dovesouthafrica grapefruit and lemongrass deodorant for her as the 0% alcohol formula and Pro-Ceramide Technology helps care for the skin barrier while keeping her feeling fresh and confident throughout the day!

You asked. Here it is. 🐆 🙈 A leopard print d You asked. Here it is. 🐆 🙈 A leopard print dress from one of my fave clothing brands I bought last year. I imported internationally, paid nearly double the price in customs, and have worn exactly …. zero times.

Here’s every reason this was always going to go wrong & and somehow I ignored all of them:

1. I barely wear dresses. I love them on other people. I admire them on the rack. But in my actual life, day to day? I knew this about myself and bought a new one anyway.

2. The style doesn’t even suit me 😆 Not every silhouette works for every body and that’s okay, but I didn’t even stop to ask the question. FOMO skipped that question lol

3. It was the last remaining item in the range when it dropped. I told myself that meant it was rare. Looking back, it probably meant everyone else had already passed on it. A sell-out item sells out. A leftover item gets left.

4. I didn’t even want the dress. I wanted the track pants (which I eventually got in SA). That’s the thing about FOMO purchases - you’re not buying the item, you’re buying the relief of not missing out. The moment it arrived, the relief was gone. And so was the desire.

5. The panic was the red flag. Any time I feel urgency around a purchase, that “I have to get this now” feeling, it’s almost never about need. It’s almost always about fear.

The dress is ok, I guess. It’s just not me 😂
Lesson learned

A morning set aside to create, connect and collage A morning set aside to create, connect and collage alongside an incredible group of women reminded me how important it is to step away from the everyday and make space for inspiration, conversation and community.

There was something so special about reconnecting with familiar faces, meeting new ones and sharing a creative experience together. These are the moments that fill your cup in ways you don’t always expect.

A heartfelt thank you to @pink_lady_apples_sa for bringing us together 🍎 💖

THRILLED to receive a copy of Yesteryear from @jon THRILLED to receive a copy of Yesteryear from @jonathanballpublishers for an upcoming readalong. If you’ve spent any time in bookish spaces lately, you’ll know this is one of the books everyone seems to be talking about right now.

There’s something so fun about reading a book alongside other readers and sharing the experience as we go. So if you have a copy, join in on the readalong!

No spoilers, but if you’ve read it - tell me: is the hype justified?
