Once Kurt and I became parents, we had to move so many things around in our lives. Gone were the days of spontaneous travel and nights out. It just takes so much planning to make things like this happen when you have kids, not to mention – double the cost!
If we want to do anything without the kids these days, we have to arrange a babysitter. Also, as working parents we always have the thought and guilt of not spending enough time with our kids!
But after some thought and as you may have read in my previous post, there’s nothing wrong with only wanting to travel with your family, but there’s also absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to travel on your own.
18 months – Yep, that’s right!
A year and a half has passed since Aidan Cole Malan came and rocked our world!
The other night I realised that when Alyssa was this age, I was already expecting Aidan and we were so at ease with the decision to have our second child. Alyssa was so passive and calm that we were totally ok with welcoming a new baby into this world. Little did we know how different these two kids would be.
Aidan is like a little energizer bunny… the only time he sits still is when he’s eating or sleeping – basically just to recharge his batteries. He is very demanding and will shout and scream until he gets what he wants.
So it’s been a while since I’ve posted an update on the Motherhood front but needless to say, the Malan household has been busy. We have our hands full with two kids who are VERY busy, yet entertaining – fighting a lot, yet loving each other a lot too and they are literally running and dancing all day long!
Here’s what everyone’s been up to:
Can you believe it’s February already?
This year I thought I’d start a new series similar to my pregnancy updates but this time it will be a mix of Aidan’s milestones, Alyssa’s tyrants as well as what I’m juggling as a mom of 2 little tots and maybe here and there a little bit of what Dad’s up to as well.
So here’s what January had in stores for us:
